Hello!!! Nisa here, coming out of hiding . So much has gone on the past two weeks or so and we have barely taken time to check in with blog, emails etc. I have had a bad head cold for about three days and am finally feeling much better today thanks to Tia Lulu's special tea she made for me last night. Today Azu and I woke up at 7:15 and got ready to go with Tia Lulu to her ballet studio but since we are staying in the flat next door to hers she didn't realize we both were up getting dressed and left without us thinking both we needed to sleep in. We waited for about 30min in her flat until we came to the conclusion that she had left without us. After having breakfast and planning out the rest the day we set out for what we thought were the Botanical Gardens that we had visited last week. Tia Lulu had insisted we returned and ask to be taken to the orchid exhibit since we had somehow managed to miss it on our first visit. So Azu and I set out for round 2 at the "botanical gardens". As it turned out the place we had gone last week which had an aquarium, waterfalls, ponds and trails was in fact a much smaller park about a 20 minute walk before the actual botanical garden so Azu and I made the journey to the official Botanical Gardens and explored for a few hours. Here are the pictures! (The Brazil vs Columbia game is starting in 30 min so we are going to go over to Tia Lulu's to watch the game...look out for more posts tonight! GOOOOO BRAZZZIIIILLL!!!! The fireworks have already begun!) (Happy 4th of July from Rio!)

  1. Nisa - love the photos and the botanical garden is beautiful :)! The first photos of the park before the garden, reminded me of the garden we visited last summer in Florence, and the huge 'platelet' stones we rested on. Explore, Experience and Enjoy :)!!! xoxoxo love you! - mama'

  2. Hey Nisa...and hey to Azu too! BOTH the park AND the garden are but a tiny taste of the beauty of Brazil I can see! Loverly loverly loverly! I was glad that you popped up finally Nisa! Glad you've shaken the sniffles too. Otherwise you've both been doing great?? yay! I, too, have been devouring several WC games -- and must say, the Brazil win was fantabulously exciting! Great way to spend the 4th ! Yesterday I went with your mama and J to his aunt's absolutely incredible home/estate/ about a 2.5 hour drive - Aberdeen area. You must try to be in the area to experience their terrific family 4th next year -- complete with competitive fun volleyball games (with annual trophy no less!), basketball court, crochet (sp??) court, gorgeous outdoor pool -- and wonderful foods...mmmmhmmm!
xoxo and DO keep sharing your thoughts AND fotos here in the blog AZU and NISA!!
